Canned Salmon Patties
Crispy pan-fried patties made from canned salmon, crushed crackers, and an egg. A hot, protein-rich meal from the pantry shelf.
Ingredients
Instructions
- 1
Open the can of salmon and drain the liquid. Transfer the salmon to a bowl. Remove any large bones and skin if desired, though the small bones are soft and edible.
- 2
Crush the saltine crackers into fine crumbs. You can put them in a bag and roll over them with a can, or crush them by hand.
- 3
Add the cracker crumbs, beaten egg, garlic powder, and pepper to the salmon. Mix with a fork until everything holds together.
- 4
Shape the mixture into 4 patties, about 3 inches across and half an inch thick. If the mixture is too wet, add a few more cracker crumbs. If too dry, add a tiny splash of water.
- 5
Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- 6
Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- 7
Transfer to a plate lined with a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
