Pear and Oat Crumble
Canned pears baked under a buttery oat crumble. Ten minutes to assemble, thirty minutes in the oven, zero regrets.
Total: 40 min
Ingredients
- •1 can (29 oz) pear halves in syrup, drained
- •3/4 cup rolled oats
- •1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- •1/4 cup granulated sugar
- •3 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces
- •Pinch of salt
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- 2
Drain the pears, reserving 2 tablespoons of the syrup. Slice the pear halves into thick wedges and spread them in the bottom of an 8x8-inch baking dish. Drizzle the reserved syrup over the top.
- 3
In a bowl, combine the oats, flour, sugar, and salt. Add the butter pieces and work them in with your fingers or a fork until the mixture looks like coarse, clumpy sand.
- 4
Scatter the crumble topping evenly over the pears.
- 5
Bake for 25-30 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling around the edges.
- 6
Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving. It is good warm, room temperature, or cold the next day.
